Supercar Sunday…second year! ..our photos coming soon…

Fantastic event thanks to Saturns Drives, Blacklist Rally, and BMW Toronto. Thanks to the Women’s College Hospital Foundation and their volunteers. And thanks to Dr Tim Dwyer for championing the event.  Supercar Sunday 2016

Another showstopper was this BMW i8 plug-in hybrid sports car on loan for the day to Dr. Tim Dwyer, Orthopedic Surgeon at Women’s College Hospital in Toronto. “We’ve come together to raise money for our research in Women’s College Hospital where we do sports surgery on pro-athletes and weekend warriors. The event keeps growing. More and more cars and more and more people are coming out,” he says, striking a pose in front of the i8. (Petrina Gentile for The Globe and Mail)

Even celebrities joined the cause. NHL alumni Mike Gartner was also on hand. “The way this event is unfolding in the second year, it can really make a difference,” says Gartner, who is a bigtime truck guy. He drives a Ford F-150 pickup, but his dream car is a vintage Ferrari Dino. “There are so many cool vehicles across all makes and models here it’s tough to pick my favorite,” he says. But this orange McLaren coupe suits him well. (Petrina Gentile for The Globe and Mail)
