Epicondylitis of the elbow can occur medially and laterally. Medially, it is referred to as golfer’s elbow, and makes up about 10% of elbow tendonitis. Lateral epicondylitis is commonly referred to as tennis elbow. These conditions are caused by overuse of the elbow joint, causing tendons to become inflamed.
