Shgufta earned a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Toronto and went onto to complete a Master of Science in Measurements and Methods with a specialization in Musculoskeletal Health Research from the University of Western Ontario. Her time at Western included training in transdisciplinary research from the Bone & Joint Institute and leadership training from the Ivey Business School. Shgufta is an experienced researcher who has published studies in leading orthopaedic journals and won awards for her academic work. She returns home to Toronto with an expertise in health research methodology and is excited to join UTOSM. Her research interests include epidemiology, patient-reported outcomes measures, and the use of big data to predict surgical outcomes.
